15 January Info Meeting Minutes


Our info meeting started with members introducing themselves before delving into each member voicing their ideas about what they would like the goal of the fraternity to be both in the short term of the remainder of the school year and the long term window of up to and beyond ten years down the road. Mutual thoughts included addressing communications issues between university policy makers and students, increasing school spirit defined as students' pride in studying at the German Sport University, and increasing international attention and application to the university. Decisions made during the meeting addresses fraternity leadership, event planning, and starting a bank account to begin fundraising. The members in attendance agreed to put off electing official officers until after our first pledge week in order to put off responsibilities until after exams week for the current semester and to give more individuals both a voice in and opportunity to become officers. Event planning for the summer semester will be on hold until an intermediary meeting between semesters is held- again t put off this responsibility until after exams. Finally, Joseph agreed to assume fiscal responsibilities for the club until an official fiscal officer is voted into office. This will include looking into and setting up a bank account for the fraternity.

Between now and our next meeting, members are responsible for setting up profiles on the fraternity website and checking the forums to post ideas for fundraising opportunities and partnerships as well as voicing their opinions on events for the summer semester.
